Keep It Simple

in Currently· Link-ups

Currently – April 2018

Linking up with Anne for the March “Currently” link-up!

Currently I am….

showering: Nothing fancy here…I use Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Wash. I have used this for years. I like it because there is hardly any scent at all and it seems to moisturize pretty well.

cultivating: I am a big fan of Lara Casey and her Cultivate What Matters blog/shop. I read her book Cultivate last year and it has inspired me to take a look at my life and just pick things that matter to me a lot and work on cultivating them. I wrote a blog post about this book and it pretty much explains everything I want to say here, so go read that post (and do yourself a favor and go get the book!!!).

expecting: I am expecting that surely warmer spring-like weather will be coming soon, right?

buying: I have been spending way too much money lately. Ever since my sister and I went to Tulsa for our Sister Weekend and shopped for clothes….I have been spending and spending like crazy and on random things I feel like. I have been buying Easter basket items, stuff for Claire’s birthday party, and random other things. It seems like everyone everywhere has sales going on and I just need to stop following people/stores on social media that sell things, because my wish list to buy things is growing and growing!!!

cooking: Last night I made Taco Soup for dinner. It was so easy, quick, and delicious! Emmalyn wanted to wait and eat what mommy and daddy were eating (usually she eats as soon as we get home). So she waited and ate with us and she LOVED it! The recipe is this:

  • Cook 1 lb. of lean ground beef. Drain and return to pan.
  • Add in the following:
    • 1 can diced tomatoes (with juice)
    • 2 cans of black beans (rinsed)
    • 1 can low fat beef broth
    • 2 cups of frozen corn
    • 1 tbsp. of cumin
    • 3 tbsp. of chili powder
  • Let that simmer for awhile and voila it’s ready to eat!!!
    • (we like to top it with sour cream and shredded cheese and eat tortilla chips or crackers with it)

That was fun! Looking forward to linking up again on May 2nd, when we will be sharing about what we’re currently celebrating, creating, wearing, sharing, and giving.

Until next time….keep it simple!

Lindsey

Oh gosh, the deals really do get me sometimes! It’s the worst on the internet too, but if the shipping is high, that usually keeps me in line. LOL And I’m SO ready for warmer spring weather to actually stay.

We always have a big bottle of that same body wash in our shower 🙂 And I know – there’s just something about new spring stuff and sales that makes me cave and buy all the things this time of year. Time to unsubscribe from some stores’ sale emails I guess…

    Thanks for linking up!

Love taco soup!! I need to try your recipe. But it’s already getting SO warm here that soup is pretty much out!
