Anne, at In Residence, hosts a linkup on the first Wednesday of every month and invites readers to share a few things that they are currently up to. Be sure to head over to Anne’s blog and see what everyone is up to this month.
loving – While I was sick last week, I watched “Virgin River” on Netflix and I just loved the show.
I am eagerly waiting for the release of Season 2 and for my hold to come available at the library for the book (yes it’s based on a book series by Robyn Carr).
embracing – The fact that my girls are growing up. Claire potty-trained herself last month and then this past weekend we set up a bunk bed for them and transitioned Claire out of her crib. I might’ve teared up some, because that was the last of the “baby stage” I was holding on to. However, I am trying to embrace their growing up because it is neat to see them change and grow into their own little selves.
tasting – Since I’ve been sick I have been drinking a lot of teas and have really been enjoying them. It’s also been soothing to sit down with a cup of “calming” tea before bed and just unwind from the day. This is the one I’ve been enjoying lately.
Yogi Soothing Caramel Bedtime Tea – Yogi Soothing Caramel Bedtime® tea is purposefully blended with Chamomile Flower, Skullcap and L-Theanine to support relaxation and help calm the body and mind for a good night’s sleep. Naturally sweet Rooibos – exclusively sourced from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms – combines with notes of Vanilla and Caramel for a delicious and warming tea that also supports wildlife conservation efforts. Unwind with a naturally sweet and comforting cup of Yogi Soothing Caramel Bedtime® tea.* (description taken from their website)
wearing – All the heart shirts for Valentines Day. I don’t know why but somehow I have ended up with three “heart-type” shirts to wear next week for Valentines week.
preparing – I am starting to compile ideas to start preparing the girls’ Valentines baskets. I’m trying to come up with useful things and not just some little toy that will get played with for an evening and break or just get thrown away after a few hours of play. Any ideas, please pass them on!
Until next time….keep it simple!

That heart gnome shirt is super cute!! I love it!
And that tea sounds so good! I am allergic to chamomile unfortunately, but the caramel sounds yummy in a tea!
Lindsey says
Yes, I love the gnome shirt. I’ve gotten on a kick with gnomes lately. I got a couple of stuffed Christmas gnomes for decorating in December and then this shirt…for some reason gnomes are just so cute!!!
Jennifer says
Such cute t-shirts! I don’t think I have one:( I am picking up that tea next time I stop at the store. Sounds perfect!! I love tea before bed:)
Lindsey says
Yes, I am really enjoying the habit of tea before bed. There’s just something calming about that little ritual!
Carrie says
I’ve tried a few Yogi teas and never been disappointed. I love that tee with all the hearts. It’s definitely calling my name.
Lindsey says
Isn’t that shirt cute! I love it!
Anne says
Hope you’re feeling better – but in the meantime, I appreciate the tea recommendation. Not sick here (feels like it’s only a matter of time with how many things are going around!), but something calming for the evening is exactly what I need right now. And I’m thinking similarly about Valentine’s Day – trying to avoid lots of sugar and also throwaway type stuff. Definitely books are a go-to for us, and my son always loves stickers and workbooks, so I’m looking at those too…
Lindsey says
Yes, I am trying to avoid the sugar too. They will get enough of that from valentines they receive from their classmates!
Liz says
Oh my gosh! I loved (& binge watched) Virgin River! Couldn’t help but notice the similarities with Hart Of Dixie – down to Tim Matheson playing the town doc lol
Good luck with the baskets! Maybe a new coloring book? Some cute pjs (my nieces love getting fuzzy pj pants)? Or some valentine themed hair clips
Lindsey says
Isn’t Virgin River so good?!? Yes I watched Hart of Dixie too and thought it was neat how he played the doctor in both. :o) Oh those are great ideas, thanks!
Julie says
I love the Yogi Detox tea, so will have to try this one out. I love L-theanine as it does really help me go to sleep even though it’s not a sleep aid.
Lindsey says
Oh I will have to try that tea out!!! And I will look into L-theanine as well. I also just heard today that taking a magnesium supplement can help you sleep better as well. Wanting to look into that one a little more as well.
