Anne, at In Residence, hosts a linkup on the first Wednesday of every month and invites readers to share a few things that they are currently up to. Be sure to head over to Anne’s blog and see what everyone is up to this month.
scheming – I guess I could say I’m been scheming in planning Emmalyn’s birthday party. It’s planned for this Sunday and I’m hoping people show up. I haven’t had anybody RSVP yet, so this could be interesting…
reading – So with us being stuck at home last week with Flupocalypse 2019 I’ve been reading a little more than usual. I’ve read a couple of little light romantic/feel-good books. When adulting gets hard I turn more towards those types of reads than books that I have to really concentrate on…and life has been hard lately and I just need that “escape” right now. Two books I recently finished were “Match Making for Beginners” by Maddie Dawson and “The Bookshop of Yesteryears” – Amy Meyerson. They were cute little reads. Check back next week for the books I read in February!
buying – There are so many things on my “wishlist” I want to buy, but I keep telling myself I really don’t need them. So needless to say, I really haven’t bought anything lately other than like groceries or household items. I guess that’s a good thing, huh?!?
making – I’ve been trying a few new recipes off of Pinterest recently and they’ve actually turned out to be quite yummy. Probably my favorite one has been “Sheet Pan Mini Meatloaves with Potatoes and Green Beans“.
accomplishing – Not much since we’ve been sick, but I guess one big thing I’ve accomplished so far this year is cleaning out baby clothes. I gave a big box of baby clothes/baby blankets/baby books to my sister-in-law because she is expecting a baby girl in May and then I gave a big box to my friend/co-worker to consign for me in a big kid’s consignment sale we have here in NWA. It was nice to be able to clear out some things and has made me want to keep on clearing out things as I get time.
Check back on April 3rd when we will be discussing what we are currently experiencing, appreciating, wishlisting, posting, and considering!
Until next time…keep it simple!

Isn’t it just the darnedest thing how people are awful at RSVPing these days?! Where is Mrs. Manners when you need her?! Haha! I hope y’all have a lovely time celebrating!

This made me chuckle! Yes, it feels like pulling teeth to get an RSVP these days. I feel like Mrs. Manners is slowly disappearing from our culture little by little these days…

I’ve been working hard on keeping wishlist things on the wishlist and just buying household necessities – the more I don’t buy, the better it feels, actually! 🙂 And I’m totally with you on feel-good/escape reads when life gets crazy at home. I’ve heard good things about Matchmaking for Beginners so many times – I might need to finally pick it up!

Yes…I’ve learned if I put it on a list, it usually just sits there for awhile and I realize I really don’t need it and I move on. There is something satisfying about having that self-control/discipline of being able to say no/ or waiting to buy something just because you want it.
