Hi Everyone! It’s been awhile…life happened and this little space had to take a backseat for a bit. Hoping I’ll get our new schedule adjusted and can get back to posting. I’ve missed it.
Anne, at In Residence, hosts a linkup on the first Wednesday of every month and invites readers to share a few things that they are currently up to (yes, I know I’m a day late, but better late than never, right?!?). Be sure to head over to Anne’s blog and see what everyone is up to this month.
appreciating – I have been appreciating getting to spend more time with my girls since starting my new job. My new job has been overwhelming trying to learn everything, but it has been nice getting to be a “car line” mom. I have enjoyed getting Emmalyn when she gets out of school and then heading to get Claire. We’ve been getting home around 4pm instead of 6pm. It’s crazy how much difference that two hours makes in making dinner and playing before baths and bedtime.
anticipating – We are anticipating purchasing a lake cabin! We are hoping to close on it this month. It is a little two bedroom/two bath cabin on a lake about two and half hours away. It has its own dock that we can walk right down to. The dock has two slips on it with a swimming platform and we get an older pontoon boat with it (which will be a good “starter” boat until we get used to “lake life”. We have never been “lake people”, but have several friends that grew up going to the lake and we have been watching “Lakefront Bargain Hunt” on HGTV and everyone seems to enjoy it so much makes it look like it is a lot of fun!
collecting – I have been working on collecting some easy recipes (mainly dessert items) that the girls and I can make together. Since starting my new job I have been trying to cook at least one thing with the girls weekly. So far I’ve met that goal (with Rice Krispies, No-Bake Oatmeal Cookies, a Strawberry Cake from Euna Mae’s cookbook, and English Muffin pizzas) and the girls have loved being able to cook with mom!
starting – I just ordered a “Full Focus Planner” by Michael Hyatt. I am looking forward to starting my deep dive into the setup videos and starting to use the planner. I was thinking I would start the planner this month, but I think I’ve decided to wait until October to allow me some time to watch all the helpful videos and to work towards getting it set up to use for the last quarter of the year.
(If you are interested in checking this planner out, here is $10 off your first order. In full disclosure – if you purchase I would also get $10 off my next purchase.)
finishing – I finally finished my second embroidery project during this COVID-19 time. This one was a tad bit more challenging than my first project, but it turned out really pretty I think!
Join in sharing what you are currently admiring, going, making, scheduling, and wishing on October 7th!
Until next time…keep it simple!
Lindsey

How exciting – a new job and a new cabin! I’m sure there are lots of adjustments but hopefully some joy too 🙂 And I love your embroidery project!
