I’m linking up with Andrea at www.momfessionals.com for Show and Tell Tuesday. Today’s topic is “Guilty Pleasures – show and tell us about the things that you know you shouldn’t love as much as you do”.
So the first one that popped in my head were:
These have always been my guilty pleasure. They have to be Double Stuf though – I am not a fan of just regular Oreos (I mean I won’t turn them down if they are offered, but Double Stuf has my heart). When I was in junior high/high school I would buy a pack and hide them under my bed (FYI – I would pour them out in a plastic container with a lid because I learned it would keep them fresh longer) so my family wouldn’t be able to eat any. It is still a family joke to this day…that if I love something they ask if I hide it under my bed. I even had an Oreo bed set (sheets and comforter) which I used in college. Yes, even to this day…Double Stuf Oreos make my day! Sometimes when my husband grocery shops, he’ll even buy a pack for me just randomly because he knows how happy they make me.
So I really can’t think of many more…before kids and when I had more time I would’ve said watching “The Bachelor/Bachelorette, Teen Mom, Pretty Little Liars, etc…” would’ve been one. Magazines also used to be a guilty pleasure, but other than that I just really can’t think of any more.
I just asked my husband what he thinks more of my guilty pleasures would be and he immediately said “ThredUp“.
Yes…okay I do go through spells where I love looking online and ordering things. What happens is I’ll place an order and something doesn’t fit or I don’t like it, so I send it back and then have a credit so of course I have to look and shop some more…it’s just a cycle for about 3 rounds and then I’ll stop and be fine for a few months and then there I go again. I’m going to stop here and put a little plug in for ThredUp…if you haven’t tried it, you should. I enjoy shopping secondhand because I feel like I’m doing a little something to help the environment even if it’s little like this. Also one of my favorite things about ThredUp is they list out the inches (i.e. size of chest, size of waist, length) and I am getting to a point where I know now, what might fit me well and what won’t based on the measurements listed there. Anyways…if you’re interested and want to try it out here’s a link you can use to get $10 off your first purchase (full disclosure – I’ll also get a $10 credit). Try it out today at http://www.thredup.com/r/5HDRIG
I just thought of another one….pens and paper products.
I am a tad obsessed with trying new pens and pretty paper things like journals/notepads/planners/etc. I tell myself “No more!” and then I see someone recommend a certain pen and of course I just have to try. Then I walk by and see a pretty journal that I just have to have. Do I have time to write in these journals with these pens? No…I have high hopes that I will, but I never do and so I have tons of pens and journals/notepads that someday I hope to eventually use, but in all honesty probably won’t.
There are probably some more guilty pleasures I could come up with, but these are the first ones that come to mind. What are some of your guilty pleasures? I would love to hear!
Until next time…keep it simple!
Lindsey

Pens, cute stationary, and planners are one of my guilty pleasures as well. I love looking at how people use their planners and getting ideas.

Paper products–yes!! Especially from Target 😉
And ThredUp is so good!! I love scrolling through that site.
