Have you ever kept a gratitude journal?
I’ve tried multiple times, but ultimately I forget my journal at home when I’m at work or at work when I’m home for the weekends and it just dies out. I need to find a good app on my phone to use and try to keep one up that way (New Year’s goal maybe?!?). I know writing down things you are grateful for is very important for a person’s health and well-being. I went to a conference this past year and Shawn Achor was a featured speaker and his presentation was very enlightening about how expressing gratitude changes the pathways in your brain and other stuff. He has a TedTalk and a couple of books out…they are on my “want to watch/read” lists!

Hosting Thanksgiving at your house?
Nope…maybe someday I will try it when the girls are older, but for now I just can’t. We go to my in-laws and/or my parent’s house.
-
Favorite Food from the Thanksgiving Meal?
Oh goodness…that’s hard. I will always love mashed potatoes and gravy, but the older I get the more I enjoy turkey, dressing, and cranberry sauce mixed together.
-
What one thing in Nature are you most grateful for?
Right now it is the fall leaves. We haven’t had a pretty fall in awhile and this year it is just gorgeous and I am just amazed at God’s beauty and creativity in it all!
-
Pumpkin Pie?
Yes, as long as it has whipped cream with it.
-
Traditional Cookbook?
Yes, I like a good beautiful cookbook. One of my current favorites is “Love, Welcome, Serve” by Amy Hannon (a lady right here in NWA!).
-
Oven-baked or Deep-fried Turkey?
Both
-
Thanksgiving Leftovers?
I’m not a leftover kind of girl (just ask my husband), but I like to have Thanksgiving leftovers the day after (any more than that and it just gets old).
-
What is one household product you are most grateful for?
Wipes…baby wipes and Lysol wipes. They make it easy to clean up almost anything quickly.

Are you most grateful for home cooked meals or restaurant meals?
I like a good home cooked meal, but they are few and far between these days for us. I admit I like home cooked food for holidays, but if it helps my mom and mother-in-law to not stress as much and be able to spend more time with the family, than a restaurant meal is perfectly fine with me.
Until next time…Keep it simple!
