I know I’m a day late for the link-up, but yesterday got away from me. I was so busy at work and then last night we grilled out and did our own little fireworks display for our little family. The girls loved it and I admit, so did I. It was just relaxing and fun to be at home just the 4 of us. Anyways….
Anne, at In Residence, hosts a linkup on the first Wednesday of every month and invites readers to share a few things that they are currently up to. Be sure to head over to Anne’s blog and see what everyone is up to this month.
reading – I’m about 80% of the way through The Last Romantics and I’m really liking it! I wasn’t sure if I was going to, but I had heard so many good reviews on it that I decided to take a chance on it and so far I’m glad I have! It could change in the last few chapters, but I’m enjoying it for now! I have had a lot of library books I had on hold come available this week as well as some I had on hold on the library Overdrive app for my Kindle, so I do not have shortage of books to read this month (mainly a shortage of time to get them all read instead).
enjoying – I am enjoying seeing my girls starting to play more together. Gives mommy a little more free time as well.
finding – Last weekend I went to a thrift store and found a cute Vera Bradley tote with a pouch for $12, a pair of Lucky Brand Shoes for $10, and a pair of YellowBox flipflops for $8. I enjoy finding bargains on brands that I enjoy!
tasting – I am enjoying all the fresh fruits/veggies that summertime brings!!!
saving – One of my goals this month is to start bringing my lunch to work more. We spend so much money eating out that I’ve decided if I could bring my lunch for at least 3 days a week, that’s at least $20 a week…times 52 is about $1,000 a year. It’s a small thing, but over time it could add up.
Check back on August 7th, when we will be discussing what we are currently ordering, watching, cooking, wondering, and savoring.
Until next time…keep it simple!

I can relate to having no shortage of books but rather a shortage of time. These thrift store bargains sound cool.

I’m loving the fruits and veggies of summer too – just got back from the farmers market! And glad to hear that review of The Last Romantics – I was curious about that one.
