Pin to Present: Valentines Edition

So it’s time for another “Pin to Present” installment. I found a couple of ideas on Pinterest for the girls’ Valentines and an idea I want to start doing as a Valentine tradition.

Emmalyn is into unicorns right now and so I saw this cute unicorn valentine idea where you use a twirly lollipop as the horn. Well, I didn’t realize that they had the lollipops unwrapped so it looked better and was easier to put through the hole. I wasn’t going to unwrap ours because I knew her friends wouldn’t be able to have it right away at school, so I was a bit disappointed in how they turned out because of that. Also, we (Emmalyn, Claire, and I) had been sick that week, so I didn’t take the time to cut it out like the Pinterest picture shows, but Emmalyn liked them and was happy with them so I guess that is all that matters, huh?

I was excited about Claire’s valentines because I thought they were super cute and super easy to do! I wish I would’ve used a string to attach, but taping it on the pouch worked just fine.

So I saw this blog post about putting hearts on the kids’ door and writing affirmations on them or a message of love on them starting on February 1st and continuing it until Valentine’s Day. I loved that idea and decided I wanted to start doing it as a Valentine tradition every year. Full disclosure – I did not make it the full 14 days (like I said we were sick the week before Valentine’s), but I did about 8 or 9 days, so I was happy with that. The first morning Emmalyn was confused about what was on her door, but then the mornings after that she started looking forward to them and wanting me to read hers and Claire’s out loud to them. I am excited to start this fun tradition and hope it speaks to my girls’ hearts and helps them to remember how special they are!

Overall, this month’s Pinterest projects were fun and they turned out pretty decent (I need to work on improving my photography skills to document them better). Anyways…check back next month to see what I attempt to recreate from Pinterest!

Until next time…keep it simple!
